New jellyfish exhibit

The National Aquarium just opened this new exhibit and it is very cool. Over 10 big tanks full of amazing creatures. I loved them all, so there are three posts of pictures!

These jellies sit on the bottom and look like they are upside down all of the time.

These jellies are specific to Australia. Black and white mushroom looking jellies.

graduation day!

Avery 's last day of preschool. Here she is with her teacher Ms. Kate.
Avery had a wonderful 6 months with her class, made great friends, a lot of arts and crafts and loved going to school.
She came home today with a cute 'All About Me' book. A treasure.

atomic mosquitos

Stephen used to work with a guy who is in a band called the Atomic Mosquitos. They play surf music, and now the kids listen to the cd (Release the Mosquitos!) all the time. And when they aren't listening to it, Charlie is humming it and Avery is drawing pictures of mosquitos. We also found 3 ticks on Lucas, hence the bug words on the bottom picture.

Dun Dun is done done

Two years ago (almost to the day!), Avery went to Sarah's 3rd birthday party. As party favors, beta fish were given to each child. We took our fish home and Avery named him Dun Dun, because Evan had a beta and his name was Dun Dun.

We have not been very successful with goldfish, but Dun Dun has been easy and fun. He even made the trip to Maryland in the front seat of Stephen's car.

Dun Dun's goodbye (aka: flushing) will be tonight.

avery loves art

In all this rain (will we ever see sun??), Avery and I had an afternoon full of art while the boys were napping. I wanted to take a pic of her hands b/c she was such a mess and she turned it into yet another form of art.

Steve the tree

On the way to drop Avery off at school, Charlie looked out his window and said, "Hi Steve!"
"Charlie, who is Steve?"
"The tree!"
Avery pipes in, "Steve is the tree at our park!"

Stephen told me that when Erin was here for Easter and we took them to the park, she named the tree Steve and since then the name has stuck.

Here is Steve
